The Kremlin Expressed Regret Over The Death of a French Journalist in Ukraine

The circumstances of the death of a French journalist in Ukraine need to be sorted out, the Ukrainian authorities recently reported a ban on the entry of press representatives to areas adjacent to the zone of military contact, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.

“I would like to remind you of the rather recent statement by Ukrainian representatives and their decision to ban the entry of any journalists into the areas adjacent to the contact zone. These were the decisions of the Ukrainian authorities. Therefore, here, of course, we need to understand the circumstances of the death of this journalist. We can only express regret in this regard,” Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

So he responded to a request to comment on the statements of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry that the shelling, which killed AFP journalist Arman Solden the day before, was carried out by the Russian military from Grad installations.

“Unfortunately, I do not have the information, and here, of course, it is important for you, probably, to contact our Ministry of Defense. I suggest not to take the word of the Ukrainian representatives,” Peskov said.
